A man of mystery

Simon Chambers joined the army at 17 and half. In 35 years of regular and territorial army soldiering he managed to become a Para, a Commando, a micro light pilot,  scuba diver, skydiver,  an Air Despatcher and served attached to the SAS. He has been awarded 7 different countries parachute wings and managed to survive five wars despite being shot and wounded twice and blown up badly twice. Finally having been discharged from the army, he went to Iraq as a ‘Contractor’ working for some of the biggest and best companies in the business. If asked why he did all these things he would tell you it’s down to a miss-spent childhood. Simon is married with three grown up children and ten grandchildren. He still Parachutes and is still in the ‘Business’. Simon’s debut novel Devil’s Playground contains true events.

Of course ‘Simon Chambers’ is not his real name, and we cannot give you any photos of the man behind the mask as “Simon” is still active in the field. Cowes Enterprise College students will be meeting “Simon” on the Friday of the Schools Programme.
